  1. NET AND SKIM SURFACE DEBRIS
A swimming pool net skimmer filled with leaves and debris just pulled from the pool water.
Day by day the surface of your pool water will naturally accumulate various types of floating debris. Especially outdoors and especially in Las Vegas (with frequent high winds), this can include insects (both flying and crawling including ants, moths, flies, bees, etc.), leaves from trees and bushes, flower petals from nearby landscaping, paper and any number of other things. Not only does the accumulation make the pool unpleasant to swim in, but left unattended for too long and it can start to clog and damage your filter. This is why our weekly pool maintenance service always starts with a thorough net and skim removal of any and all surface debris.
  2. VACUUM FLOOR DEBRIS (AS NEEDED)
While the surface of your pool water will naturally accumulate things that float, other types of dirt and particles will gradually sink to the bottom and accumulate on your pool floor. This is especially true of the dust and dirt carried on the frequent desert winds here in Las Vegas. In order to remove this dirt, a pool vacuum must be used. The pool vacuum is attached to your pool pump and filter system. When run along the swimming pool floor it then sucks in water and the dirt along with it. Clean water is pushed back out into the pool, while dirt is captured by the filter. It takes a little bit of finesse to properly vacuum a pool as light patches of accumulated dirt can be easily stirred up and thus not captured in the process. Whenever it’s needed, our weekly pool cleaning and maintenance service will include a thorough, and expert, vacuuming of your pool floor.

  3. BRUSHING TILE, STEPS, AND WALLS
Freshly cleaned steps leadning in to a swimming pool.
While surface debris can be skimmed with a skimmer net, and accumulated dirt on your pool floor can be vacuumed through the filter, it is still normal for a more stubborn and sticky dirt to accumulate on your swimming pool tiles, steps and walls. This type of dirt and staining cannot be removed with a pool vacuum and instead, needs to be removed with vigorous brushing. Once removed, the particles will be drawn through the pool filter leaving your steps, tiles, walls and water once again clean.
  4. TEST WATER CHEMISTRY
While removing all the different types of dirt and debris from your pool on a regular basis is essential, keeping your pool water clean, safe and healthy on a chemical level is always a top priority. As the chemical composition of pool water can change quite frequently, we will always test your pool water for total chlorine, free chlorine, PH, alkalinity, hardness and more.

  5. CHEMICALLY BALANCE WATER*

Once we have tested your pool water, we will apply our expertise in making sure it is chemically balanced. *The price of regular chemicals are included in your monthly service charge. Regular chemicals include: liquid chlorine, chlorine tablets, and shock. The following chemicals, if needed, are not included in your monthly service charges: phosphate removers and algaecide.
  6. EMPTY POOL PUMP AND SKIMMER BASKETS
While the above steps are essential on a weekly basis to keep your pool clean, healthy and enjoyable, the heart of keeping your pool water clean throughout its life is it’s pump and filter. Your filter basket collects large debris, before it can reach the filter, such as leaves and insects over time. If left for too long a clogged basket can reduce your pump and filter efficiency. For this reason emptying your filter basket is a routine aspect of our weekly pool cleaning service.
